POSITION SUMMARY: The Performance Analyst puts into practice the mission of NSCHC through delivery of quality care to its patients and functions as a member of the health care team. OVERVIEW: This position focuses on performance improvement throughout the organization and collaborates with Chief Medical Officer on clinical quality improvement, the Finance Director on patient and financial metrics and the Chief Operations Officer on workflow evaluation and improvements. The candidate should have demonstrated data and analytical experience as the candidate will be trained on multiple systems to pull reports, evaluate trends and collaborate with management on processes for improvement. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES- Identifies trends and process improvement opportunities across departments within operations Support complex project and data analysis as needed by Management. Recommend and implement process improvement initiatives within the department as well as implementing process improvement initiatives based on management decisions. Supports multidisciplinary quality improvement functions organizationally to achieve the highest quality and best possible outcomes for the patient and to support the various functions related to development, implementation and evaluation of performance improvement initiatives. Consults with essential stakeholders such as administrative and medical staff leaders, department heads and critical committees as appropriate to finalize and advance the project goals; provide a monthly report to be shared with the board of directors. Provides QI support and consultative services to leadership in effectively achieving regulatory accreditation and organizational compliance for QI activities. Organizes, compiles, and reports QI data for leadership to identify trends, establish priorities, and recommend improvement activities. Collects, compiles and organizes data to create/submit required reports to HRSA (federal grant funder). Serves as a working member of the health care centers quality committee; attends medical staff department and committee meetings and other pertinent meetings to ensure the organization's overall QI plan implementation and compliance. Effectively communicates improvements that are made via verbal or written communication of clinical design activity to work teams, staff, managers and administrators throughout the organization. Helps with panel assignments and population health management. As the PCMH (Patient-Centered Medical Home) transformation manager within NSCHC: Understands and translates NCQA medical home requirements, benefits and process for our practice at both sites. Develops PCMH meeting team agendas, delivers content, and supports all assigned leaders to facilitate progress towards defined goals and timelines. Manages relationships and project details to ensure project deliverables are met by the assigned leaders. Assists leaders in developing internal policies and procedures as well as new workflows to meet NCQA PCMH requirements. Analyzes current practice workflows, policies and data to advise practices on opportunities for improvement. Shares knowledge of EHR report writing to support PCMH practice transformation activities. Maintains an effective working relationship with members of the practice (clinicians, administrators, office staff, etc.). Serves as the liaison with healthcare payers on quality initiatives. In collaboration with the Finance Director, develop financial reports for forecasting, trending, and results analysis. Identify trends in expenses, utilization, medical quality, and other areas. Manage special projects. Master new computer software programs and upgrades, as applicable Participates in professional organization activities to enhance personal growth and cultivates relationships in the field at a regional level. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES- Ability to interpret and summarize results of various analyses in a timely and meaningful way. Demonstrates initiative, ability to work with others, and good professional judgment. Ability to work independently and organize time effectively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively present information to small and large groups. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Attends a minimum of one outreach event per calendar year. Commitment to NSCHC faith-based mission to provide care to all who request it, without judgment. Willingness and ability to learn new and emerging data management and analytic software. Willingness and ability to learn basic operations of electronic medical record software, cpt coding, and structured data tracking. QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree in HIM, Finance, Business Administration or related field required at time of transfer. Master's degree preferred. Superior proficiency with MS Office products, particularly, MS Excel, and other pertinent computer software packages Ability to work with and interpret large data sets, required. Familiarity with quality improvement methodology, such as Plan/Do/Study/Act required. One year in the health care industry, strongly preferred. One-year experience with an electronic medical record, preferred. One year in a quality role and/or familiarity with HEDIS metrics, preferred. Previous experience with project management, preferred.
