POSITION: Recreation Program Staff (ages 17 and under) temporary positions WAGE RANGE: $8.00 - $10.00 per hour (depending upon job level and assignmen t ) POSIT I ON CLOSES: Once positions are filled AC C O U N T ABLE T O: Works und e r the gene r al supervision of the Recreation Supervisor and the direct supervision of the Recreation Coordinator. PRIMARY OBJ E CTI V E OF P OS I TION: To provide scorekeepi n g, officiate, and perform other du t ies as needed for the operation of specif i c rec r eation programs emphasizing part i cipation, i n struction, and skill deve l opment i n women's, men's, youth, children's s p orts, and family recreati o n. ESS E NTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Instruct, umpire, officia t e and/or keep score for games, e d ucate youth and parents about the rules; enforce rules and policy; ensure safety a n d security of recreation participants a nd faciliti e s. Answer inquiries and provides information to the public. MIN I M U M QUALIFICAT I ONS: Considerable knowledge of the m e thods and techniques o f operating recreation programs for such prog r ams as a d ult/youth basketball, s o ftball, voll e yball, flag football, pickleball, and tennis; community recreation p r ogramming; team sports managem e nt; commun i ty and public relations; rules and r e gulations of a variety of sports and recreation a l activiti e s ; of equipment, facilities, operations, a nd techniq u es used in r ecreation p r ograms. OTH E R IN F O R M AT I O N : Applicant must be at le a s t 14 years of age prior to beginning employme n t. May be req u ired to be CPR certified. Necessary job and skills training will be made available if hired. NOTE: Employees 18 years of age and older must successfully complete a pre-employment drug test and criminal history check following a conditional offer of employment. Employees required to drive a motor vehicle as an essential job duty will be required to successfully complete a motor vehicle record (MVR) check following a conditional offer of employment.
