As individuals we are great, and together we are even better so come help us make a difference as we are currently seeking a full-time AMPP (formally NACE) Level I Coating Inspector to join our Construction Services team in Greensboro. Learn more about us in this video: https://bit.ly/3Jp3Dez and visit our website: https://www.smeinc.com/ Job Snapshot: The applicant must be able to function independently, comfortable with confined spaces, working at heights on mounted ladders and scaffolding, safety conscious, and have good verbal and written skills. Frequent travel, for extended periods of time, outside of the Greensboro area should be expected. Includes traveling to project sites to observe, document, and record surface preparation (prior to coating applications) being performed by contractors. Surface preparation may include concrete, steel, cast iron, etc. Observation and documentation of mixing procedures and construction workmanship to ensure coating applications meet specifications. To perform this work, employee typically must operate a vehicle, work in confined spaces in underground piping, inside water towers/tanks, and at elevated heights such as water towers (normally below 300 ft.), but at times may include heights greater than 300 ft. The employee must be able to climb structure mounted ladders, scaffolding, walk across beams, girders, and other structures from which observation is requires. While climbing ladders and other structures, employee must have the ability to carry up to 40 - 50 lbs. of equipment to areas requiring observation and testing. Use of full body harness is usually required for fall protection. Capable of wearing a ½ mask respirator while preforming work around blasting and coating application. Qualifications: High school diploma/GED 2+ years of experience in surface preparation and industrial coating application AMPP (formerly NACE) Level I CIP Certification Comfortable with confined spaces and working at heights up to 200 feet Able to climb structure-mounted ladders and scaffolding Good verbal and written communication skills Local to the Greensboro area or ability to relocate Willing and able to travel frequently outside of the Greensboro area Why work at S&ME?
