El Programa Hispano Católico (EPHC) is seeking a ) is seeking a Part-Time Temp, SUN Activity Leader at Clear Creek Middle School (Dates: 4/10/23 through 6/7/23 with the schedule of 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM, start hour are flexible.) SUN Community Schools are a social service, neighbor hubs that support and empower students, families, and communities by connecting them with resources through culturally specific advocacy, high quality programming, and leadership opportunities. Under the general supervision of the SUN Site Manager, the Activity Leader will be supporting the after-school Extended Day Program by leading classes and activities. About EPHC: El Programa Hispano's humble roots began in 1982 when a small group of outreach workers from Catholic Family Services, now Catholic Charities of Oregon, (CCO) conducted outreach to Latino migrant farmworkers in East County. In 2015 with the support of CCO, EPHC became an independent 501c3 organization. Today, EPHC serves more than 20,000 individuals annually in the areas of Economic Sustainability, Education, Community Wellness and Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault prevention, intervention, and advocacy. Our vision is a thriving Latine Community living to our fullest potential . Although EPHC is affiliated with the Catholic Charities Network, a candidate or participant does not need to be a Catholic to work with us or to receive services. Across our programs and services staff of all faiths-or-none- work within our framework of respect for our mission and the dignity of the human person and the common good. To learn more about our amazing Organization visit our website at: https://www.elprograma.org/ Essential Duties: Lead afterschool enrichment classes/activities such as Open Gym-Soccer/Volleyball, DIY, Cooking, and Latine Student Leadership groups etc. Develop and maintain effective relationships with students. Assist with class development and preparation. Provide student mentorship & assist with student behavior management. Support after-school snack distribution and monitoring a group of students. Support class set up and clean up tasks. Assist any SUN events (SUN Family Night, Field trips, etc.). Other duties as assigned by the SUN Site Manager. Qualifications & Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required. Experience working with middle school students. Be bi-culturally competent. Experience with/or confident with public speaking Must be able to organize work, take initiative, follow through, and have attention to detail. Ability to work well with a diverse group of students. Ability to effectively follow both written and oral directions. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with staff and students. Ability to work well in team setting, as well as independently; be flexible and adapt well to different dynamics in a fast-paced work environment. Satisfactory results from criminal background check required. COMPENSATION: This position starts at $22.00 an hour. Location & Typical Working Conditions: The majority of work performed by this position requires in person and onsite activities. On-site work is located at Clear Creek Middle School in Gresham, OR. Job duties may require evenings and weekend work depending on project deadlines.
