POSITION: Truck/Rail Loader LOCATION: Sparks/Reno I. SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Truck/Rail Loader is responsible for monitoring, controlling, and conducting activities that pertain to unit operation and taking corrective action when necessary to ensure that all unit conditions and operations are in compliance with safety, environmental, and operating policies, and procedures. II. RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure proper shift turnover by providing effective written and oral communications to the relieving shift and technician that cover routine and non-routine issues, problems faced, unit operating conditions, etc. S trict compliance with safety policies and procedures, taking immediate corrective action in the event a potential issue or unsafe behavior is observed. Monitoring and accurately recording temperatures, pressures, rates of flow and trends. Makes periodic rounds in assigned areas, checking and/or adjusting process equipment to ensure proper operation, draws product samples for laboratory analysis and makes necessary changes based on data. Performing required preventative maintenance and assist in troubleshooting potential issues and give assistance to others when unit problems occur. Documenting efforts in accordance with policies and procedures. Properly using personal computers, and/or other forms of IT for meeting daily performance expectations and accessing plant and unit information and procedures. Ensure that workstations and work location is clean and free of hazards Monitors the safe handling, identification, storage, and removal of hazardous waste streams resulting from production activities. Participate in training and respond to emergency situations Other responsibilities as assigned III. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associates Degree in Process Technology or a technical field with 2-5 years of operations experience or H.S. Diploma and 10+ years of operations experience in refinery, chemical or power industries. Strong commitment to environment, health & safety, and ability to lead by example. Experience with bio-fuels production is a plus. Basic understanding of industrial operations Willing to be on call and meet call-out standards to respond to site responsibilities and emergencies as part of the emergency response team. Willing to work a rotating shift schedule, overtime, holidays, nights, and weekends As a part of the pre-employment selection process, candidates are required to submit to and receive satisfactory results from all pre-employment background, drug, medical, and reference checks IV. REPORTING REQUIREMENTS: Reports Directly to the Shift Supervisor.Pro V. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: · Ability to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50lbs. · Ability to work in changing climate conditions. · Ability to work in close quarters: i.e., work while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing. · Follow and adhere to all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines (i.e., hard hat, eye protection, protective footwear, Nomex). · Ability to climb ladders, walk up and down stairs and work at heights · Ability to wear respirator or self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA)
