Job Title : Seasonal After School Group Leader FLSA Status : Non-Exempt Department : Customer Experience Reports To: Recruitment and Troop Support Manager Revised: October 2022 General Description: The Seasonal After School Group Leader is responsible for implementing Girl Scout programs to girls in transitional kindergarten to twelfth grades. This position is responsible for facilitating girl participation in group activities and serving our community partners through collaborations and grant survey follow-up. Essential Functions/Responsibilities: Facilitate custom Girl Scout programs that align with the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. Ensures Girl Scouting is available to all girls that participate by delivering a message of pluralism and diversity. Lead group of girls to participate in program activities at various sites. Demonstrate and promote a climate of courtesy, professionalism, and positive attitude to coworkers, after school staff, girls, and others with whom their job put them in contact. Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information. Ensure participating girls complete grant survey. Performs additional duties as assigned to assist in fulfillment of the council's mission and goals. Competencies and areas of expertise may include : Self-management and Confidence - Assesses own skills and abilities and identifies areas for improvement; willingly accepts constructive feedback. Active Listening - Ability to skillfully use a variety of questions and other active listening techniques to promote a robust discussion with coworkers, after school staff and girls. Oral and Written Communication abilities (i.e., In person, verbal, written, and/or phone); Expresses ideas and facts in a clear and understandable manner appropriate for the individual or group; listens to and comprehends what others are saying; prepares organized and structured presentations; has demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of sensitive and confidential issues and communicate effectively with a diverse group of girls, and staff. Interpersonal Relations - Establishes rapport with others at all organizational levels; respects others; considers and responds to the needs, feelings, and capabilities of others; establishes and maintains an open dialogue with others; demonstrates the ability to support the Girl Scout program with a particular emphasis on in person communication in a small group, and large group settings. Education, Work Experience, Skill Requirements & Certifications: To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required: Prior Girl Scout experience but is not required. 2. Minimum Experience Minimum 1-2 years of related experience. Non-profit experience and/or membership experience a plus. 3. Additional Requirements: Proven ability and aptitude to work collaboratively with diverse individuals throughout the organization and community. Ability to cultivate, foster, maintain, and manage relationships effectively. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously without constant supervision. Follow and maintain all cleaning protocols and schedules, safety guidelines and procedures. Ability to work a flexible schedule. Position is based in the Riverside/San Bernardino County. Daily and occasional travel may be required to report to assigned school locations. 4. Minimum License, Certifications & Affiliations/Memberships and CEU's Valid California driver's license and an insured vehicle in good working order. Must successfully complete a criminal history background check. Work Conditions Activities occur both inside and outside and employee is subject to both environmental conditions; however, employee is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
