MWRA Project Manager, Mechanical - Engineering & Construction Chelsea, MA The MWRA is seeking a Project Manager (Mechanical) - Engineering & Construction who manages professional engineering and design projects related to the rehabilitation and capital improvement of waterworks and wastewater facilities and infrastructure, with a primary focus on mechanical engineering and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) projects. The work includes managing the planning and design phases of assigned rehabilitation and capital engineering projects - performing and manages reviews of reports, memoranda, work plans, designs, cost estimates and other professional engineering work products, including evaluations, calculations, technical analyses, scheduling, and plans and specifications; supervising and performing professional engineering work of substantial difficulty and importance requiring the exercising of independent engineering judgment including the gathering of information, development of evaluation and design, and preparation of reports, contract plans and specifications; managing all phases of consultant selection and supervision of professional engineering consultant contracts including the development of scopes of services, plans and specifications, cost estimates and work schedules, participates in negotiations, and prepares contract award recommendations - ensures compliance with contract budgets, schedules, and terms. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field; and f ive (5) to seven (7) years of engineering design, project management, and/or construction experience, preferably related to mechanical and HVAC systems serving major water/wastewater facilities; and t wo (2) years of experience in a supervisory capacity, or a ny equivalent combination of education or experience. A valid Massachusetts Class D Motor Vehicle Operators License is required.
