If you have experience with grounds keeping, you may be a great addition to our Zoo team. Make a difference with the City of Hutchinson! The Zoo Horticulture Maintenance Worker assists the full-time staff by performing unskilled to semi-skilled work in a variety of fields in the maintenance and upkeep of the Zoo. Performing horticultural and maintenance related duties are the primary responsibilities of this position. A day in the life: Performs grounds care, including mowing, trimming, watering, trash & leaf removal, sidewalk care (including snow removal), planting, pruning and weeding. Fills fish feeders and empties coin collectors. Performs duties such as maintenance on drip irrigation. Operates equipment and machines in accordance with accepted safety standards. Determine grounds priorities by performing area audits with the Zoo Director. Performs other duties as deemed necessary or assigned. What will make you successful: Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. Experience: Similar or related experience preferred. Certifications/License: A valid driver's license is required.
