Linfield University is seeking an experienced individual to join the Office of Admission as the Assistant Director of Admission-School of Nursing . As a member of the enrollment services team, this position has shared responsibility for the development and implementation of programs and activities designed to enroll new undergraduate and graduate students for Linfield University. As a face of Linfield University, this position is primarily a marketing representative for the Linfield-Good Samaritan School of Nursing providing outreach to hundreds of prospective students per year from around the US with travel focus in the Western states. The Assistant Director of Admission-Nursing position requires a significant level of independent judgment and autonomy with planning, external representation of the university working with students, families, academic advisors and academic department advisors at two-year colleges, independent educational consultants, and alumni. This position requires participation in a full range of recruitment and admission efforts. This includes inquiry and application generation, travel, group presentations, individual meetings, unofficial transcript evaluation, application review, giving tours and establishing an on-campus visit schedule. Review of applications will begin immediately and will remain open until filled. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Recruitment, Communication and Marketing: Develop and implement a student recruitment strategy for assigned programs and cohort groups involving management of information and data on the Linfield admission CRM, documentation of prospective student contact that includes group presentations, individual communication (face-to-face interviews, phone counseling, email, video counseling) and application review. Monitor information on the website, recommend and request any changes needed to ensure accuracy of information. Recruitment responsibilities include working with prospective students and applicants for the RN-BSN program and assisting with the traditional BSN, Accelerated BSN and Master's Entry into Profession Nursing programs. Act as liaison between Linfield and the two-year college Co-Admission partnerships. Meet and advise students regularly on schedules established by Co-Admit agreements. Maintain ongoing recruitment outreach with those students. Responsible for advising prospective students, coordinate file review (interviews when required), determine admission decisions for RN to BSN applicants and communicate decisions with the applicant and team. Requires, evening and weekend work, typically more than 40 hours per week. As a university representative, travel to community colleges and college fairs to meet with counselors and advisors, schedule and lead virtual information sessions for prospective students and college personnel. Nursing outreach may include recruitment events at hospitals and other health care organizations. Attend and present at evening and weekend college-planning events for prospective students and their Serve on panels and attend special college fairs/promotional events. Work with the Director of Admission to increase underrepresented minority applications and new student enrollment. Coordinate on-campus events and programs designed to attract, recruit, and enroll students. These can include campus open houses and programs for college personnel associated with advising and administrative roles in schools of nursing. Collaborate with other Linfield personnel such as, financial aid, student services, academic advisors, transfer coordinators, international programs officers and others to assure high-quality service to students from the recruitment through the enrollment stages, including: explanation of curriculum, providing unofficial transcript evaluation, explaining academic policies and guiding applicants through all stages of the application and enrollment processes. Work with alumni, current students, and faculty as team assistants in recruitment of prospective students. Monitor and document individual travel budgets and expenditures in keeping with department guidelines. Make budget recommendations. Assist in the process of direct mail and marketing promotions. Meet specific recruiting goals as established by the department. Remain informed about program competition, work force needs and current trends in demographic shifts, state educational grant funding, recruitment strategies and admission policies in assigned areas of responsibility. Collaborate with other members of the Linfield Admission counseling team in developing marketing strategies. Maintain full knowledge of Linfield University - academic majors/minors, international programs, athletics, student life including residence life, financial aid, academic advising, etc. When possible, attend classes across the divisions and schools, athletic events, lectures, theatre and music events, and other on-campus events to build stories and examples for use in educating prospective students and their families, college counselors and other stakeholders about Linfield University. Campus Event Programming: Under the direction of the Associate Director of Admission for the School of Nursing and the Director of Admission, plan, develop, organize, and lead on-campus and/or online recruitment events throughout the calendar Organization includes: booking and securing campus space; working with Linfield faculty and administrators for academic and activity fairs, nursing lab visits, panel discussion representation and presentations; working with the Associate Director of Admission for the School of Nursing and the Director of Admission to develop marketing materials and event agendas designed to impart event-specific messaging (print and electronic); securing food and beverage service, advertising events and managing a comprehensive RSVP process, preparing day-of materials including name tags, event agendas, etc.; planning tours; all if the event requires. Plan and host online webinars and manage communications. Oversite of and as-needed scheduling of individual and group on-campus visits including, tours, admission counselor, and faculty visits. Other: Serve on campus-wide committees. Travel to and attend professional development training seminars and conferences as appropriate with departmental needs and budget. At the instruction of the Director of Admission, incorporate any new information into the department's procedures to increase efficiency. Ensure that the professional ethics code (NACAC Code of Ethics and Professional Practices - CEPP) is upheld. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree Experience Three or more years of admission experience at the admission counselor and/or assistant director level or equal years of experience in higher education advising or enrollment services. Priority given to applicants with prior nursing admission Excellent customer service, verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. Proven record of providing excellent and prompt service to all constituents. Works effectively with diverse constituents. Works effectively, efficiently, and accurately in an environment that requires multi-tasking. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Understands the importance of confidentiality of student records and working with sensitive information. Exercises sound judgment, problem-solving and negotiation skills. Hardworking with a strong and competitive drive to meet goals. Excellent follow-through on assignments. Effective, practical experience in the field of recruiting and advising traditional and adult students. Demonstrated organizational and recordkeeping skills, and attention to details. Proficient with use of Microsoft Office Suite programs, customer service management and student information systems. Commitment and comfort with digital communication available for recruitment purposes. Ability to work nights and weekends when required. Ability and willingness to drive and/or fly to and within recruitment locations. Possess a valid driver's license and driving record to become/remain certified to operate Linfield vehicles and equipment.
