The position is based out of the Wauseon, Ohio location and the hours are Monday - Friday from 6:00am - 4:00pm. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES The General Labor position will perform a variety of tasks in Shipping & Receiving department. The responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, Understand the safety features of the machines and tooling to ensure they are operating without compromise to safety systems. Respect and protect Swanton Welding's and third party's property (tools, vehicles, facilities, equipment) and business activities Operate equipment and assist production as needed Assembles and builds skids and boxes from wood by using circular saw, skill saw, and nail gun to be used to store and ship products. Packages products and parts onto skids for shipment Drive a small bed truck for shipping/receiving duties Operates forklift to load off load steel trucks and support loading of skids and small fabrications onto box trucks. Partners with team to lift, stack and band fabrications for warehousing Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and work area Prep parts/area for painting activities Conduct self at all times in a way that promotes a positive image of the Swanton Welding and follows the code of conduct Performs other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent Strong mechanical abilities Experience working with wrenches and impact tools (i.e., basic mechanic skills) Knowledge on how to operate drills, circular saw, air tools and power tools Ability to read a tape measure and understand mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide, fractions). A work history of compliance to safety, quality, and productivity standards A work history that supports a good to excellent attendance record Fast learner and able to adapt in a fast-paced environment Ability to work independently with limited supervision Detail oriented approach to daily work activities Able to work well in a team-oriented work environment Positive attitude and willingness to learn PREFERRED SKILLS At least 2 years' of manufacturing experience Experience operating a forklift PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Walking, Standing, Sitting Kneeling, Stooping (Frequently) Lifting, Carrying up to 50 pounds (Occasionally) Temperatures (Occasionally) ADDITIONAL NOTES May require overtime with little notice before or after normal work hours or weekends.
