A. Duties: Regularly and customarily operates and is responsible for the operation of the. control room in a fossil generating station. This includes the following together with other related and incidental work: Starts, stops, and regulates steam boilers and auxiliary systems as directed for safe and efficient plant operation. Starts, stops, and operates combustion turbines, steam turbines, generators and auxiliary systems, and substation equipment as required. Observes recorders and indicators within the control room for the boiler and turbine-generator systems for safe operation within prescribed limits. Operates radio and telephone switchboard; operates c!3rrier telephone where required. Directs and trains those assigned to assist Performs routine clerical work, including station log and/ or field and time reports, material requisitions, etc. When work within this job classification is temporarily interrupted or delayed, employee may be assigned to other work within the same occupational group. In emergency conditions, may be assigned other work which employee may reasonably be expected to perform with safety to self and others. B. Qualification and Job Requirements: Must be able to perform semi-routine operations of considerable complexity and variety. Should have had at least 6 years' appropriate experience in this Company, including 5 years' experience in a generating station or other pertinent and qualifying experience and training in a similar type and line of work. Must exercise high.degree of analytical ability and judgment. Must be familiar with the Company's safety rules applicable to this and related jobs.• Must be thoroughly familiar with the Company's electrical and mechanical tagging rules. Must possess a State of New Jersey "Red Seal" Engineer's License. Must be willing and able to work on a rotating shift schedule. Work is highly complex an'd varied; intra-company contacts of moderate importance. Responsibility for plant and service important and extensive.
