Davis & Floyd is seeking a Structural Designer to join our team! We are a multi-disciplined firm that has been providing engineering services to our clients since 1954. This candidate will work on the design of structural engineering projects that may include bridge design, building design, water treatment plant tank design and other structures. The ideal candidate will work in a strong team environment of highly motivated professionals for a family owned and oriented company that prides itself on integrity and quality. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following tasks: • Visit sites to determine nature and scope of projects• Involved with the production and management of multiple projects• Coordinate of building systems, building codes, and regulatory requirements• Use equipment specifications, detailed drawings, and verbal instructions as a means of data and information to perform assignments• Work closely with Engineers, and project managers to obtain project information and ensure drawings are accurate and complete• May prepare cost and quantity estimates• Modify or create models, documents, and drawings, applying standard structural engineering techniques and procedures• Perform routine structural drafting and modeling assignments and may have limited detailing responsibility; assignments may include higher-level work for training/development purposes• Work as a part of a project team to provide deliverables and meet deadlines while providing real time quality control of the deliverable product• Provide drafting of structural plans and details using Revit, Microstation, and AutoCAD to meet project requirements• Work directly with and under the direction of the Project Engineers to produce successful project outcomes• Prepares and checks working drawings of moderate complexity, requiring some independent judgment and a knowledge of engineering and construction practices• May recommend materials of construction, coordinate work with other specialties, inspect construction, fabrication or assembly, make tests and record technical observations and compile results• Performs design investigations, analyses, and CAD design• Recommends and implements changes to resolve field problems and evaluate prototypes for design modifications to improve performance and reliability • Competent in computer operations with 3D modeling, drafting techniques and engineering terminology• Familiar with applicable materials and processes• Reviews shop drawings • Demonstrates extensive knowledge of engineering, architecture, planning or surveying techniques • Ability to communicate effectively• Capable of using computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents • Familiar with QA/QC procedures and understands basic business practices• Performing drafting functions, such as the preparation of various structural drawings and details for buildings and bridges • Strong organizational and time-management skills are needed Qualifications: • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office®, Bentley Microstation®, AutoDesk Revit® and AutoDesk AutoCad® is required• Associates degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent with a minimum of 4 years related experience • Certified Engineering Technician may be substituted for 1 year of job experience• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record may be required • Computer literacy required• Ability to work with others and good communication skills required Company Benefits: • Competitive Salaries• Flexible Schedule with Core Hours of 9 am - 4 pm Mon-Th (Remaining Hours can be Flexible/Remote)• Profit Sharing Plan (Company Contributes Regardless of Employee's Contribution• Company Paid Extended Illness Leave)• Professional Memberships• Continuing Education Licensures
