Description:

Under general supervision, perform specialized clerical and public contact work in receiving and transmitting messages for the City's emergency services and other duties associated with the Communication Center. Must possess basic computer skills and the ability to speak clearly. Must be able to work various shifts within a 24-hour operation which includes weekends, holidays, overtime, emergency call-in overtime, etc. As an employee you will be assigned to a variety of shifts which include mandatory shift work. This position requires employees to work a high percentage of holidays and weekends. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or GED and a valid Florida driver's license is required. Must obtain a Florida Department of Health 911 Public Safety Telecommunicator certification within one (1) year of employment. Must type 25 wpm. Written, typing and oral Civil Service examinations are required. This position requires successful passing of a background investigation and physical/drug screening.
