DAY-TO-DAY AS A SPEECH PATHOLOGIST - REHABILITATION SPECIALIST When working as a Speech Pathologist - Rehabilitation Specialist with our human services nonprofit, you play a crucial role in helping our clients improve their speech, language, feeding, and oral motor abilities. Your primary responsibility is to develop individualized treatment plans that focus on identifying their needs, strengths, and weaknesses, and encouraging consistent practice between therapy sessions to maximize their progress. Utilizing standardized assessments, you evaluate clients referred for speech pathology services and develop both short- and long-term goals, plans, and objectives to guide your treatment approach. In addition to therapy sessions, you also provide coaching to clients and their family members on strategies for incorporating new skills or techniques into their daily routines and activities in natural environments. As part of your speech therapy role, you also ensure compliance by accurately recording and tracking client testing results, treatments, responses, and progress. You attend plan of care review meetings, make appropriate referrals, and stay current on trends and best practices to continuously improve your skills and knowledge. Collaboration is key in this rehabilitation position, and you work closely with other providers to promote a unified, team-oriented approach. You also have the opportunity to demonstrate your exceptional leadership skills by developing and presenting in-service staff training, as well as participating in community education or training initiatives through our human services nonprofit. WORK SCHEDULE FOR A SPEECH PATHOLOGIST - REHABILITATION SPECIALIST In this full-time speech therapy position with our human services nonprofit, you can expect to work during normal business hours , typically from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday . REQUIREMENTS FOR A SPEECH PATHOLOGIST - REHABILITATION SPECIALIST Master's degree in speech language pathology Licensed as a speech language pathologist in the state of Texas First aid and CPR certifications Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams Valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance Covid-19 vaccination Two years of related experience is preferred. A certificate of clinical competence by ASHA would be a plus, but multiple factors will be taken into consideration. We need someone with a passion for helping people and a drive to stay on top of deadlines. This speech therapy rehabilitation position requires excellent communication while being a team player.
