About the role: The Construction Manager is accountable for day-to-day construction operations for aerial and underground infrastructure. Included in the responsibilities are: Ensuring team safety and quality Ensuring project productivity through pre-construction evaluations, proactive roadblock resolution and maintaining efficiency. Maintaining schedules through interactions with Program Managers. Ensuring complete and complaint field reporting and daily documentation What does the job look like: The Construction Manager performs several important tasks, some common ones are: Managing operating teams such as aerial placing crews, underground conduit installation crews and splicing crews, both in-house and subcontracted Attending collaborative meetings with cross-functional teams to prepare and execute through multiple phases of the multi-year construction plan Partner with Quality and Safety Managers to ensure your teams are aligned with regulated and company requirements. Conduct weekly meetings with your team to convey company news, policies and changes Administrative tasks necessary to report status or compile required project deliverables What are the job requirements: The following lists the recommended skills, experience, certifications, and accomplishments that are required for this role: 10+ years managing OSP telecom fiber optic deployment construction projects Organized administrative skills (documentation, timely interactions/follow-up) Leadership in growing teams for best in class results Materials management OSP operations acumen and advanced problem solving Strong at Conflict resolution and de-escalation Success record and ability to manage complex multi-year construction contracts What Velox offers: Velox provides a great workplace and working environment.
