A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A POOL TECHNICIAN The Pool Service Technician position performs service, maintenance, and installation of all makes and models of residential and commercial Pool equipment. Pool Service Technician's work may include but not limited to the diagnosing and repairing Pool equipment, cleaning of pools, testing pool water quality levels, and maintaining proper chemical balance in assigned pools. Duties/ Responsibilities Diagnosing and repairing Pool equipment Performing preventative maintenance on Pool equipment Maintain, clean and stock company vehicle Ensure a clean and safe work area Maintain safety protocols with homeowners or guest Ability to communicate with owners or guests professionally Ability to collaborate well with coworkers Follow the direction of Pool Service Manager Perform other duties as assigned by management. Maintain the proper chemical balance for the pool. Maintains the pH and Chlorine values for good water quality. Maintain the pool and all water features using proper chemicals and cleaners. Maintain the pool pumps and filters. Carrying out scheduled water cleaning, using chemicals like chlorine. Regularly testing swimming pool water quality and pH balance. Tests the chemical levels in swimming pools and other water systems and adjusts as needed. Maintains manual or automated records of all activities and prepares daily / weekly / monthly reports. Operates and inspects tools and equipment and makes minor adjustments and repairs. Operates vehicles to transport various types of materials and equipment. Cleaning and servicing swimming pool filtration units. Servicing heating, circulation systems. Fixing lights above and below water level. Use swimming pool vacuum cleaners to clean the pool floor. Checking and repairing corrosion, cracks, and leaks in the pool walls or floors. Use a telescopic pole with a net to clean and remove any leaves or derbies. Logging and reporting equipment faults or water quality problems to managers. REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent Valid Driver's License Excellent communication and people skills Be knowledgeable or have the willingness to learn new skills. Experience in residential and light commercial Pool systems Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, twist, and bend for extended periods of time. Lift and carry material weighing up to 75 lbs.; occasionally lifting items weighing more than 100 lbs. with assistance. Ability to climb and utilize a ladder safely. Good physical fitness: hand-eye coordination and ability to quickly respond to sounds. Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, including outdoors in times of excessive heat and inclement weather. WORKDAYS The normal work schedule is 5 scheduled work days and weekend work is required. holidays, and after-hours when required. Willing to work overtime when the situation arises.
