We also offer great pay, excellent benefits, and opportunities to advance . A Day In The Life . . . . In this position you save the day when a water line breaks. By fixing them, our customers continue to have access to water. You perform water system installation, maintenance, and repair. This includes hauling and unloading materials, installing pipes, repairing water mains, repairing and replacing fire hydrants, installing and moving meters, making all sizes of taps, adjusting valves, making tie-ins and extensions, compacting soil after repairs, cleaning water tanks, and more! With this much variety in your work, you are never bored! To complete your work, you operate a vehicle and various construction/maintenance equipment. You operate a dump truck to load, haul, and unload equipment and materials as needed for assigned work. For excavation work, you may operate a backhoe and/or ditch witch. Properly maintaining and cleaning assigned equipment and vehicles, you are able to ensure safety on the job. At the completion of each project, you repair asphalt, concrete, sod, and other surrounding surfaces. You are sure to perform all of your work in compliance with company policies and procedures, plans and specifications, schedules, and various regulations and standards of quality and safety. You also maintain positive customer relations during each project ensuring customer satisfaction. You enjoy being on the move and working with your hands but most importantly, you find great satisfaction in keeping our water systems running. QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent 1 year of experience in construction and/or plumbing OR equivalent combination of education, training, and experience Ability to lift heavy equipment Valid South Carolina drivers license Are you organized and able to complete projects on time?
