Title: Quality Technician Classification: Non-Exempt Reports to: Quality Coordinator Job Description Summary The Quality Technician supports both quality assurance and quality control initiatives regarding Production and Operations to ensure that customer requirements are met, and any discrepancies are resolved. This position reports to the Quality Coordinator and provides technical support, leads inspection department functions, determines validity of discrepancies, resolves customer and internal non-conformances, and determines root cause. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The general expectations will include, but not be limited to the following: Carries out quality assurance measures as part of a multi-disciplined work team Use of calipers, micrometers, drop indicators, 3D portable scanners and other measuring equipment. Be able to read blueprints and specifications. Perform Incoming, in-process, and final dimensional inspection of fabricated components Maintain calibration of equipment and records as required to prove conformance Provide internal/ external technical support when necessary. Support the Quality Department in maintaining CET ISO 9001 certification. Assist Quality Coordinator on various quality investigations, inspections, and other tasks as assigned Promote teamwork and the continuous improvement process. Maintain a safe and clean working environment Supervisory Responsibility This position does or does not have supervisory responsibility Work Environment This position requires time spent on the shop floor and exposure to shop elements including noise, moving parts, dust, and fumes. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. The Quality Technician must have no known allergy to epoxy agents and can become certified to wear a respirator. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work in noisy and dust filled spaces, climb on and around large structures, lift heavy materials, sit, or stand for extended periods of time. Position Type & Expected Work Hours This is a full-time hourly position, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m.-3:30p.m. This position may require longer hours and weekend work. Travel Minimal travel is expected for this position. Required Education and Experience High School Diploma, GED, and/or 3-5 years of experience in a related field Experience as a trained auditor for internal audits Experience with CAPA & nonconforming Material Ability to be organized/focused in a distracting environment Must be self-motivated, energetic, and highly organized with outstanding attention to detail Must exercise discretion Ability to read, write, and speak English Preferred Education & Experience Associate degree Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principles Calibration experience Knowledge of OSHA Regulations Other Duties Please note that this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
