HOURLY RATE: $20-25/HOUR Job Title: Accounting Intern Department: Finance Reports To: Finance Manager Pay Range: $20 - $25 (UP TO 30 HOURS PER WEEK) Classifications: Non-Bargaining Unit Status: Hourly This position has direct reports: No Position Summary We are looking for a driven Accounting Intern with a sound understanding of GAAP and financial principles and terms who is ready for an immersive, real-world experience. Under the supervision of our staff, the Accounting Intern can expect to participate in the preparation of journal entries and financial reports, analyze actual financial data, utilize enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, and assist with other accounting activities. To be a strong candidate for an Accounting Internship, you should be a motivated team player with a positive attitude who can maintain efficiency and accuracy when multitasking. You should be collaborative, trustworthy, receptive to feedback, and eager to learn. Accounting Intern Responsibilities: Shadowing members of the Accounting department as they perform their duties. Assisting with research, filing, data entry, and recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records. Assisting with Miscellaneous Receivable processing and Work Order close. Working with CORE's ERP software. Handling sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity. Learning how to work as part of the Accounting team to compile and analyze data, track information, and support the company or Finance's internal clients. Taking on additional tasks or projects to learn more about accounting and office operations. Accounting Intern Requirements: Must be an Accounting student enrolled in college. Preference made for junior or senior year students. Satisfactory completion of introductory accounting courses and a basic understanding of accounting and financial principles. GPA of 3.0 or higher. Integrity: Exhibits a high degree of integrity and honesty . Ability to effectively read, write and speak the English language to communicate in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner. Ability to quickly learn Aptitude for math, proficiency with computers. Working knowledge of Excel Strong verbal and written communication skills. High level of efficiency, accuracy, and responsibility. Motivation and a strong desire to take on new challenges and learn as much as possible.
