Maintenance Mechanic

Description:
8am-4pm, On-Call rotation every 3rd week. A Maintenance Mechanic performs skilled maintenance and repairs of mechanical, electrical, and other physical structures. Paints structures, performs masonry work, and repairs plumbing and fixtures and woodwork. Maintains and installs electrical systems and fixtures. Measures, cuts, bonds, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduits. Uses hand and power tools. Ensures tools and equipment are maintained and repaired. Essential Duties and Responsibilities for a Maintenance Mechanic: Performs skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, machine repair, small engine repair, painting, janitorial and other trades as required. Handles the maintenance of all agency facilities, grounds and equipment while ensuring compliance with OSHA and Department of Health regulations. Performs all required routine maintenance and repairs necessary to keep facilities in proper working order. Maintains equipment, supplies and logs. Ensures that safety standards are followed at all times. Assists with the set up and break down of furniture for various functions, meetings, etc. Qualifications: Education/Certification High School Diploma /GED preferred. Valid Driver's License, free of serious violations, and vehicle required for use when on duty or on-call. Experience Experience working with all building trades, including installation of electrical systems and fixtures and landscaping maintenance. Understanding of prints, technical manuals and safety regulations helpful.
