Cost Analyst Harrison Steel Castings Co. Harrison Steel Castings Co. has an opening for a Cost Analyst Responsibilities include managing our cost accounting systems designed to accurately measure costs associated with the production of steel castings and supporting services. The position also drives our quoting system for new products and modifications to products. Additionally, the position is responsible for organizing and driving continuous improvement efforts throughout the organization. Reporting to the Controller, the Cost Analyst job has no supervisory duties. A bachelor's degree is required. It requires coursework in finance, accounting, math, economics, engineering or related field is helpful. Experience in managerial accounting or industrial engineering, 6 Sigma Black Belt, and manufacturing experience with an analytical background is preferred. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Develop accurate costs for quotes and manage the quoting process Monitor quoted costs as compared to actual, analyze results, and drive improvements Facilitate purchase of multiple sources of energy (including but not limited to electricity and gas) Maintain management accounting data and cost systems Design and track studies and reports associated with various departments Perform time and material studies Collect, prepare, and present results and ideas to upper management Qualifications: Ability to interact with internal technical staff and external suppliers and customers in a manufacturing environment Process, equipment and logical control Ability read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Work Environment: Occasional exposure to work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level is usually moderate in offices and loud in the Production Facility.
