The Tool & Die Maker will build fixtures, and service stamping dies or related tools while using their skill set and tool room equipment, ensuring that the tooling required for a production run is to specification and completed in a timely manner. Essential job functions: Works with Engineering and Production department to plan timelines, materials, and methods for tooling, ensuring quality and on time delivery. Build and repair stamping dies, fixtures, and tools in accordance with the print dimensions. Setup and operate the tool room equipment needed to build, repair, revise and service stamping dies, fixtures, and related tools. Ensure the maintenance of stamping dies, fixtures, and related tools by sharpening, cleaning, polishing, and reassembling for set production runs. Additional Job Functions: Assist in the performance of general maintenance of the tool room equipment and tool room area. Assist engineering with documentation updates and revisions, as needed. Assist in other tool room employees and providing backup, as needed. Assist in the documentation of the tool room processes and procedures in accordance with the company's quality assurance program. Participate in the company's continuous improvement initiatives and assisting corrective/preventive action activities, when needed. Perform job-related activities as required or assigned. Essential job qualifications and requirements: Technical Must be able to read and understand engineering prints and visualize concepts to actuality. Must be able to work to a high degree of accuracy. Must have good mathematical skills. Must have good troubleshooting and critical thinking skills. Must have attention to detail Physical Must be able to perform general physical activities throughout an 8-hour shift including pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, lifting, and balancing. Must be able to stand and walk throughout an 8-hour shift. Must have multi-limb coordination. Must have good arm-hand control and dexterity. Must be able to see details at a close range.
