You'd be joining a team focused on uplifting and enhancing the wellbeing of families struggling with substance use. $500 sign on bonus and Bilingual differential provided to those who qualify Program Overview : HHM focuses on preserving, reunifying, and/or stabilizing children and families who are living in homes impacted by parental substance use. HHM serves Atlantic, Cape May, and Ocean County families. HHM provides peer recovery supports, in-home individual and family counseling, therapy, and recovery groups to parents and families post SUD treatment. The goal of services is to enhance the well-being of children, parents, and families and improve their functioning by addressing trauma and substance use, teaching self-care and coping skills, and enhancing effective parent-child interactions. HHM will also link families to a network of recovery-oriented care providers. What you'll do as a Counselor: Provide in-home family-centered counseling and concrete supports to enhance functioning and well-being of parents and children residing in Atlantic, Cape May and Ocean Counties. Use Motivational Interviewing and other skills to provide individual and family recovery counseling, education and support, promoting healthy lifestyles and healthy choices. Teach, coach and model self-care techniques, healthy coping skills and effective parent-child interactions. Co-facilitate recovery support groups. Work collaboratively with HHM Peer Recovery Specialist, Community Liaison and community service providers to support a recovery-oriented system of care. Complete documentation consistent with program, agency, and federal cross-site evaluation requirements. Must have experience working with families with substance use and mental health issues and needs. Must have strong engaging and communication skills Professionalism, ethics, and a commitment to excellence in care Must demonstrate initiative, creativity, reliability and the ability to work well independently Must have and maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Must be able to exercise independent thinking and good judgment under all circumstances. Must be able to analyze work, set goals, develop plans and utilize time effectively and efficiently. Must be sensitive, flexible and responsive to gender, race, ethnicity, socio-economic status, religion, age, sexual orientation or any other special needs as reflected in the ability to communicate with staff and/or clients.
