Description: Under the direction of the Aquatics Director, the Aquatics Coordinator oversees the coordination of all aquatic programs, such as swim lessons, open swim and Family Swim Programs. Responsible for scheduling classes, completing program paperwork, scheduling lifeguards, and supervising lifeguards in the absence of the Aquatics Director. Manages swim lesson registrations, pool and class schedules. Responsible for the safety of members, recognizing and responding effectively to emergencies. Enforces all facility policies, rules and regulations, and complete records and reports as needed Assists with lifeguarding, swim instructor, and First Aid and CPR trainings. Assist in the supervision of department staff and ensure they are always following all safety and policy regulations. Perform lifeguarding duties, swim lesson instruction, and direction of aquatics programs as scheduled, or in order to provide substitution coverage. Maintain accurate aquatic schedules and procedures to provide maximum opportunities for member/staff connections. Collaborate with department leads to maximize enrollments in program registration and pool usage. Ensure all staff are current with required certifications. Maintain compliance with required documentation of pool operation. High School diploma or GED and some college course work preferred. Current YMCA or American Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, and Oxygen Administration. Ellis instructor certification required within 120 days of hire. Lifeguard Instructor certification required. Must be 18 years of age and have one to three years of recreation, pool management, lifeguard, swim instructor, or water park experience and/or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Schedule: 20-25 hours/week. Flexible schedule available to include mornings, afternoons, evenings and/or weekends. Pay $14-15, based on experience.
