We are seeking a qualified Communications Coordinator to collaborate with the parish staff to create and implement effective multi-channel content and messaging in support of St. Ignatius Martyr parish's mission to make God known, loved, and served. Ministerial Character The Pastor is the visible principle and foundation of unity in the parish (St. Ignatius, Martyr Catholic Church - Austin, Texas) which the Bishop has entrusted to him. He makes Christ's mission present and enduring in the parish. In order to fulfill his mission, the Pastor employs suitable, chosen collaborators (clerics, religious or lay people). He shares with them his mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them. Job Summary: The Communications Coordinator works under the supervision of the Director of Adult Evangelization & Catechesis and in collaboration with the parish staff to create and implement effective multi-channel content and messaging in support of St. Ignatius Martyr parish's mission to make God known, loved, and served. Essential Job Duties: Coordinate with Pastor and Pastoral staff evangelization messaging across communication channels Create (write/edit and design) weekly print bulletin, includes pastor column (edit) and any Spanish translations Write weekly Mass announcements in English and Spanish Create (write/edit and design) weekly parish enewsletter and maintain subscriber lists Maintain & update parish online presence on social media (e.g., Facebook and Instagram), major web listings (e.g., Google Business Profile), video platforms (e.g., YouTube), and emerging platforms Maintain & update parish website Create and oversee production of annual report, parish Christmas card, and other special print publications as needed Take, edit, and post photography and video used in regular parish communications (and supervise professional for special projects); oversee and maintain digital assets, e.g., seasonal graphics, photos, etc. Update, maintain, and oversee production of Ministry Guidebook, both online and in print Write, design, and produce print and online materials (e.g., flyers, brochures, worship aids, digital signage, infographics) to promote the parish mission and ministry events/activities. Create, implement, and oversee style guide for all parish materials and publications Support Pastor in two annual mailing efforts by updating/maintaining donor lists and overseeing print production and mailing Other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Highly professional demeanor, judgment, and work habits, including maintaining confidentiality Balance of collaborative and independent work ethic Ability to coordinate multiple projects at one time Excellent communication skills, including writing, editing, and design High degree of technical proficiency across all necessary content-creation tools and platforms Minimum Qualifications: Education and Trainings: Minimum 2 years' college degree or equivalent professional experience Experience: Minimum 1-2 years' work experience or college degree in relevant field creating, updating, and monitoring digital content writing, designing, and producing print materials Technical skills: Highly proficient in Adobe suite, including InDesign and Illustrator Experience with email marketing tools, FlockNote highly preferred, (or MailChimp, Constant Contact, etc.) Experience with eCatholic website platform highly preferred (or WordPress, Squarespace, etc.) Video creation and editing tools (Adobe Premier or Final Cut) preferred, but not required Web and social media analytics experience preferred, but not required Language: English language skills required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred. Catholic Requirement: Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing Familiarity with fundamentals of Catholic teaching and practice and enthusiasm for communicating them effectively. Experience in a Catholic institution, organization and/or parish desirable, but not required. Licenses/Certifications: Must be certified by the Diocese of Austin EIM within 90 days of employment and maintain certification throughout the employment period. Working Conditions: Employees of St. Ignatius, Martyr Catholic Church - Austin, Texas are engaged in ministry and closely tied to the Pastor in the exercise of his ministry and obligations to the Church. Ignatius, Martyr Catholic Church - Austin, Texas is an at-will employer. All buildings and vehicles owned by St. Ignatius, Martyr Catholic Church - Austin, Texas are tobacco free. Working in a fast-paced environment with priorities and plans that may change rapidly. Working on weekends, evenings, and some holidays may be required. Will be exposed to religious ceremonies, conduct, and speech, including Catholic Christian prayer and liturgical celebrations. Will be required to adhere to dress codes and conduct standards, including but not limited to EIM standards of conduct in the workplace and outside of the workplace. Traveling within and outside the parish to meetings and other events may be required. Will be required to conform personal and professional activities to be consistent with and supportive of the mission, purpose, and moral teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
