A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A GUEST SERVICES MANAGER As a Guest Services Manager, you are responsible for ensuring that every guest leaves satisfied, which involves responding to each guest's needs personally and empowering your team to do the same. You make sure that the hotel front desk staff complies with cash handling, credit, and check cashing policies and procedures, and that the staff is knowledgeable about incoming groups and new accounts. With attention to detail, you create the front desk schedule and ensure all shifts are covered.You work closely with the director of sales to be informed of recent developments and upcoming events. You know the hotel's demand segments and sources of business for each, ensuring proper rates and inventory are loaded correctly. You also assist the general manager with city ledger billing and maintenance.Your ability to prioritize multiple tasks is key to ensuring that daily checklists are completed. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A GUEST SERVICES MANAGER Ability to communicate effectively with guests, co-workers, managers, and vendors Prior hotel front desk service Ability to lift 25+ pounds and stand/walk for prolonged periods of time Ability to maintain a positive attitude in difficult situations Computer skills Physical ability for pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, upward reaching Can you provide exceptional hospitality and customer service with a smile? WORK SCHEDULE This customer service position typically works a mix of afternoon to evening shifts (3-11 pm) with some daytime shifts sprinkled in depending on the needs of the hospitality team.
