The ideal candidates will have a good attitude and a dedication to excellence. Self-motivation and ability to multitask is important. Willing to train the right individual. Experience in casual and formal dining is a plus. This is a part-time position. Days and hours worked will vary. Candidate must complete CA Food Handler training within 30 days of hire. Complimentary meal, golf privileges, service charges. Serrano Country Club Job Description Job Title: Busser Department: Food & Beverage Reports To: F&B Director and/or Supervisor FLSA Status: Non-exempt Prepared By: Human Resources Prepared Date: January 01, 2022 Approved By: General Manager/F&B Director Approved Date: January 01, 2022 SUMMARY Sets and cleans dining room tables before, during, and after meal service. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned whether or not in this job description, at any time, by the F&B Director or designee.Supports the goals and objectives of the Company and in accordance with the Company's commitment to Total Customer Satisfaction, must have professional, service oriented attitude at all times.Follows safe work practices at all times.Must adhere to schedule, report to work on time, well groomed and wearing a clean uniform.Serves water and bread as member/guests are seated. Maintains bread and water service throughout the evening for each table.Assists servers in their tasks and with carrying food trays to tables.Stocks server's station with supplies.Sets up side station and performs assigned side work at beginning/end of each shift.Removes soiled dishes and finished glassware from table; brings to dish washing area.Removes soiled linen and replaces with clean linen.Sets tables with polished silverware, glassware and clean linen.Keeps tables, dining room, and bus station clean and orderly.Collects trash from dining room, grill and other specified places after each serving period; performs cleanup and closing duties as assigned by supervisor.Keeps ice bins filled.Advises supervisor of any complaints as soon as they occur.Attends all service staff meetings as requested by the F&B Director or General Manager. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : This job has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: Less than high school education; One year restaurant experience as a busser preferred.Must be able to carry food and beverage trays effectively. Language/Interpersonal Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to members, guests, or employees of the organization.Must be able to speak in a clear and understandable voice so that various types of communications may be conducted with people of various levels of education and capabilities.The employee must be able to interact and communicate with all types of individuals and deal with difficult people and situations.Must have an outgoing personality; Possess excellent interpersonal, customer service and teamwork skills, maintain positive working relationships, promotes a cooperative, courteous, friendly, accommodating and respectful attitude towards members, guests, and colleagues. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to deal with and solve problems involving several variables. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS : Valid California driver's license, Food Handler Card. PHYSICAL DEMANDS : The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to transport oneself throughout the project site including but not limited to the golf course, pro shop, restaurant/lounge, and other community areas. The work environment is often fast paced. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The position will alternate between working indoors in a controlled climate and with fluorescent lighting to an outdoor setting with variable climate and lighting. Must be able to work in a well-lighted temperature controlled area sufficient in size to allow freedom of movement to accomplish tasks. Must be able to adapt to the climate with marked changes in temperature from heat in the kitchen area to the cold or refrigerated areas.
