We are looking for a motivated and experienced senior financial analyst who has diverse experience in collecting data, monitoring variances, identifying trends and creating financial models to support management decision-making and improve the Company's financial status. This role will specifically focus on financial analysis and related support for the Company's Delivery function. Primary to a candidate's success in this role will be the ability to work effectively across functional and organizational boundaries (including operations and corporate shared services) in supporting the Delivery team to provide superior services to our customers and deliver on expected financial results. This is a true partnership role. Responsibilities Assist in creation of program budget baselines, ETC, and EACs, preparation of proposal pricing, and basis of estimates (BOEs) Review financial results of individual projects to determine financial position of the projects including monitoring budgets, percentage of completion, work-in-process, unbilled, billings, and backlog Assist the Delivery team with maintaining various financial models to support the planning, delivery and accounting for their programs, ensuring quality, accuracy and focused analytic review Assess program progress against established plans and parameters. Perform consolidation and analysis for developing monthly forecasts and metrics for the business Demonstrate appropriate understanding / working knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls, and apply them Analyze data in support of month-end close to ensure proper accounting procedures have been followed and revenue and expenses are booked correctly; investigate and report any inconsistencies or improprieties, and work with the accounting team to make any necessary reclassification in a timely manner Perform monthly, documented project budget/forecast-to-actual variance analyses for management review Provide guidance and support to Delivery and accounting team members to facilitate the accurate set-up and reporting of projects Based upon knowledge of project performance, assist Delivery team with development of project forecasts on a monthly/quarterly basis Enter project-related forecasted numbers into Company's planning system (FocusPoint) Provide timely, relevant and accurate reporting of actual project performance to facilitate management decision-making toward the achievement of the budget and strategic plan Consolidate individual project results and forecasts in support of bi-weekly project meetings, monthly Program Management Office (PMO) meetings, and for purposes of developing overall business unit monthly forecasts and metrics Monitor and assess indirect rates Establish strong business relationships with all Delivery program/project managers, and proactively engage them to facilitate mitigation of project performance issues Support Delivery managers by being the first point of contact for researching and resolving financial issues and questions, and providing financial training and related mentoring Develop and refine key project-related performance metrics and drive robust analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses and opportunities, while evaluating possible alternatives and recommending appropriate actions to the Delivery team Build analytical models that utilize both financial and non-financial data to forecast project results for various "what if" scenarios Prepare financial reports, charts, tables and other exhibits as requested Provide practical counsel to management by recommending insightful use of financial analysis techniques, tools, and concepts to communicate useful information and drive business decision-making across the Company Assist with the development and maintenance of complex pricing models and basis of estimates, incorporating knowledge of the Company's indirect rate structure Ensure assigned work process documentation is kept current Develop, communicate, and manage requirements for reporting and finance system enhancements and serve as a point person to facilitate business user support throughout the technical development process Perform special projects, working with cross-functional team members, to improve system / process efficiency and performance Identify non-value-added processes within the department and seek solutions Requirements A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and strong account reconciliation skills Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in public accounting, or 5-7 years' corporate experience in project control and/or project-related budgeting, accounting, financial modeling , and business analysis in the federal marketplace (i.e. with a government contractor providing professional services and products) Knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards, FAR and experience working with corporate indirect rate structures Independent worker and analytical thinker with ability to conduct research, data analysis and resolve complex problems Experience with Time and Materials (T&M), and Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contracts Must have extremely strong MS Excel skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to multi-task and work in a challenging fast paced environment Ability to switch from complex to routine tasks when required Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and listening) Maturity, professionalism, and high level of discretion are required Strong work ethic with a positive, can-do attitude Strong presence with the ability to interact with Senior Leadership Experience working and thinking creatively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and demanding deadlines Preferred CPA/CPA candidate Experience with FocusPoint (TM1) and/or Costpoint All candidates who are given offers must successfully pass a background investigation including criminal history & reference checks.
