About Us: Canvas Health, a nonprofit Certified Community Behavioral Health Center, offers a comprehensive continuum of care for children and their families who struggle with mental health symptoms that impact their ability to function successfully at home, in school and within the community. Through a contract with Hennepin County, Canvas Health is a certified Functional Family Therapy provider. Internship Description: A MSW intern will work closely with our in-home family therapy providers. An intern will be a part of the Functional Family Therapy (FFT) team and will have the opportunity to collaborate and work with different providers. Services are provided most often in the family's home, while supervision, consultation and coordination of care are often done virtually. The intern will be trained in the evidenced base model of Functional Family Therapy and in time provide family therapy services. They will support our program through accurate progress monitoring and timely paperwork. The intern will receive supervision, collaboration/sign off on completion of field forms. This is an unpaid internship for the 2023-2024 school year. Internship Site: The FFT program is based out of the Bloomington Clinic, however, most services are provided in the community, in the family home or virtually. Equipment is provided for the intern to work remotely and in the community. All families referred to the FFT program live in Hennepin County. Travel mileage is eligible for reimbursement. Clients: The intern will provide care to youth ages 9-18 and their caregivers with struggles related to mental illness, chemical dependency, trauma and behavioral challenges. Referrals are made from mental health case managers and juvenile probation officers. Relationships: The intern will build relationships with targeted mental health case managers, juvenile probation officers and child welfare workers. Job Posted by ApplicantPro
