ShelterCare's Administration Department of Eugene, OR is seeking to hire a part-time Landlord Engagement Specialist. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with landlords and property managers, within the community, willing to participate in the ShelterCare Master Leasing Program. This position contributes to ShelterCare's mission to create stable housing in our community by locating housing opportunities through outreach to landlords, Property Managers, and housing authorities. Requires strong relationship building and communication skills to strengthen and expand the connection with the community to reduce homelessness. ShelterCare is considered a healthcare organization. Following state rule 333-019-XXXX, covered healthcare providers and healthcare staff must provide their employer: Proof of vaccination showing they are fully vaccinated; or documentation of a medical or religious exemption. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The Landlord Engagement Specialist earns a competitive wage of $21.98 - $26.50 depending on experience . This is a non-exempt, hourly position. ShelterCare qualifies for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program. * Prorated for employees working less than 40 hours a week. A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A LANDLORD ENGAGEMENT SPECIALIST As a Landlord Engagement specialist you will c onduct research, outreach, education, and public relations to build a pool of landlords and property managers interested in participating in the Master Leasing Program and/or renting available units to ou r participants. Understand and be able to educate landlords and program participants in the different types of housing subsidies including Bridge subsidy, 811 units, Section 8, program-based vouchers, and other low-income housing options. P artner with the housing team and the Property Manager, respond to complaints, incidents, and identified issues whether from EPD/SPD or from clients; Track and respond to complaints in accordance with agency standards and practices. Utilize relationship building and sales techniques to engage landlords in program participation, highlighting benefits QUALIFICATIONS Preferred 1-2 years experience in Property Management or sales and/or working in a role that required communication or customer services skills. Essential Skills: Effective communication, collaboration, scheduling and time management, leadership, risk management, critical thinking and problem solving, use of technology for email, spreadsheets, documents, etc, and ability to handle confidential material and maintain security of documents. Must be eligible to drive ShelterCare vehicles. Must pass an Oregon criminal background check.
