Position Summary: As a member of the flightline Quality team, you are responsible for the execution and verification of the Quality activities in the Flightline phase, starting from the handover from the FAL, through the flight test phase, until the final delivery to the customer. This includes the demonstration of aircraft system integrity and conformity in accordance with the design specification by the verification of functional test procedures and declares the aircraft ready for the production flight testing phase. Primary Responsibilities: Quality Inspection: 60% Release the aircraft for all ground and flight operations (Engine run-up inspections, Pre and Post flight checks). Evaluate test results by documenting the tests performed and the test results in the Technical Log Book (TLB) of the aircraft. Support and perform troubleshooting on aircraft systems. Ensure Aircraft Airworthiness & Conformity as a Quality Inspector with final signature authorization. Make required logbook entries and Airworthiness Directives status report and certifies compliance in the required logbook. Performs special inspections imposed by Restrictions and/or Special Instructions (RSI). Serves as the flight test team Quality representative in technical review meetings with Liaison, FAL/Flightline, Design Office, Programs, and Quality teams. Perform ground checks, static system tests, APU run, low and high power engine run, low speed test and compass swing; in accordance with the FTP and in coordination with the flight test department. Ensure technical follow-up, validation of aircraft configuration, and provide technical assistance for flight snag rectification. Airworthiness & Aircraft Delivery: 30% Responsible for Closure of Transport Canada Snags. Perform and sign the application for the FAA C of A. Perform and approve service bulletins. Perform MRB approval in the non-conformance management system. Revise and approve flight permit. Ensure aircraft conforms to its approved design data. Support customer deliveries for any aspect of aircraft conformity and release for flight. Support improvement measures. Clarify problems with engineering, customers, and suppliers. Additional Responsibilities: Other duties as assigned: 10% Qualified Experience / Skills / Training: Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience as a flightline quality inspector in the field of aeronautics. Leadership experience preferred. Airline experience Licenses/Certifications: Valid FAA A&P or TCCA Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) M2 license required. Valid A220 type rating preferred. Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities: Knowledge of Quality Management Systems. Knowledge of drawing systems, inspection plans, and inspection coordination. Knowledge of principles, practices, methods, and tools used on the production line. Knowledge about aircraft mechanical and electrical installation. Knowledge of airworthiness regulations. Experience in Troubleshooting of Avionics/Airframe/Powerplant Systems. Knowledge of rules for aircraft design and manufacturing preferred. Knowledge of Transport Canada (TCCA) Airworthiness Regulations preferred. Extensive knowledge on A220 family systems preferred. Proven experience in the performance of A220 Functional Test Procedures (FTP) preferred. Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages): Able to read, write and speak English proficiently. Clear and precise communication skills, able to give and receive direction. Must be able to present the work performed to confirm compliance to requirements. Must be able to effectively communicate complex issues to target audiences and coordinate actions which lead to proper resolutions. Must be able to listen and learn. Must have a positive attitude and be able to work well with others. Technical Systems Proficiency: Must understand Information Technology systems and their interfaces with one another. Ability to proficiently use computer based programs (SAP, Microsoft, G-Suite, etc.). Organizational information: Reports to: A220 Flightline Quality Supervisor Direct Reports: Exempt: 0 Non-exempt: 0 Job Dimensions, Contributions to Success: Responsible for ensuring the airworthiness of newly manufactured A220 aircraft in Mobile, AL. Responsible for ensuring that aircraft logbooks, engineering documentation, and other technical data is correct and presented to the customer in a manner that meets their needs. Nature of Contacts: Identify the communications in performing the responsibilities of this position: internal, external, cursory, involved, influencing, negotiating, and frequency. Involved communication on a daily basis with internal and external parties Physical Requirements: Includes: Lifting, Carrying, Pushing/Pulling, Sitting, Standing, Squatting/Kneeling, Walking, Speaking, Hearing, Vision, Manual Dexterity, Travel. Include estimated time or percentage for each factor and maximum weight for lifting. Vision: adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions. Hearing: able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals. Speaking: able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification. Equipment Operation: Able to operate a wide range of tools and equipment including hydraulic lifts and arms. Carrying: able to occasionally carry up to 20lbs/9kg while engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects. Lifting: able to occasionally lift up to 30lbs/14kg. Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas and on the shop floor. Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at a computer and in meetings. Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves. Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time delivering information. Travel/Mobility: able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods of time and on short notice. Able to work outside hangers in changing locations. Able to work on movable lifts at the aircraft at a height of approximately 40 ft. Walking: able to walk through office and production areas, around flightline and airstrips and sometimes on uneven indoor or outdoor surfaces other business interactions.
