Title : Construction Field Engineer Location: Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA Status : Full-Time Travel: Local/Regional Salary: $46,800.00 - $81,932.00 Position Summary: Midnight Sun and our Joint Venture partner, Centennial Contractors Enterprises (CCE), are looking for a Construction Field Engineer for a Federal construction contract in Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA. The Field Engineer assists construction project team members in various areas to include, but not limited to, preparation of field-related reports including scoping, estimating, procuring, and submittals. Duties/Responsibilities: Project Support : Assists with daily reports and other field assignments; Assists with writing scopes of work and performing job walks; Provides support with project buyout, procurement of subcontractors, materials, and equipment; Prepares AutoCAD as-built drawings and operation and maintenance manuals; Assists Project Manager during bid negotiations. Estimating : Assists in the development of detailed line-item takeoffs and pricing; Assists with entering line items into Unit Price Book software using RS Means or other line items estimating tools. Subcontractor Support : Prepares bid documents for subcontractors; Assembles subcontractor quotes for review; Gathers subcontractor safety information; Assists in tracking progress payments and invoicing from subcontractors; Prepares subcontracts and other subcontractor safety information. Scheduling : Helps develop and maintain project schedules. Safety : Ensures compliance with Centennial's Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) guidelines, and procedures along with all local requirements (OSHA, USACE EM385.1.1, etc.). Responsible for driving between project sites that are often miles apart or miles from the assigned office location. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field highly desired. Experience in the construction industry with a commercial or industrial general contractor. Experience with estimating, design, and scheduling software highly desired. Knowledge of construction means and methods. Experience with blueprint reading a plus but not required. Must demonstrate a strong ability to: Adapt and be flexible to frequent changes in a fast-paced work environment. Collaborate and work effectively in a team environment with people of various backgrounds and styles. Strong verbal and written communication skills, to include clear, concise, and professional presentation of information. Adapt to the constantly evolving world of technology, design, means, and methods. Systems may include but are not limited to: Microsoft Office suite, AutoCAD, ProCore, Adobe, and BlueBeam. Work Environment: Performance of the required job duties will be in an office environment along with visits to sites that are under construction which may include various weather conditions. Physical Demands: The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: The ability to walk terrain and surfaces that may be far, uneven, or temporary. The ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear. The ability to frequently use hands to finger, handle or feel. The ability to occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, squat, or reach. The ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
