Announcement of Vacancy Electrical Power and Controls Intern (Temporary) Waco, Texas Summary of Position : The purpose of this position is to provide training and hands-on experience in electrical, instrumentation and automation controls. The selected individual will work alongside an advanced technician at various locations across the Brazos River Basin, including B.R.A. Lakes, Water and Wastewater treatment facilities. They will receive hands on experience with PLC's, Wonderware, WIN-911, Factory Talk View Studio, RSLogix 500 &5000, VFD's, Flow Meters, Motor Controls and more. The individual selected will become familiar with a variety of instruments, equipment, and tools to monitor and control processes. Upon successful completion of the program, this internship will provide the individual with a solid foundation based on training and hands-on experience in Electrical Power and Controls. Preferred/Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Basic knowledge of math, biology, chemistry, physics and/or mechanics are necessary to be successful in this position; ability to successfully complete assessments; and knowledge and use of computers and programs such as Word and Excel. Preferred/Required Education and Acceptable Experience and Training : Must be enrolled in a program for Electrical Power & Controls or Instrumentation Technology at a higher education facility. Posting Date : April 10, 2023 Starting Date : mid-May 2023. Work Schedule : This temporary position will require 20 to 40 hours of work per week for a total of 400 hours. Certificates and Licenses Required : For those over the age of 18, a current Texas Driver's license and a good driving record are required to travel, as needed, to other locations. Starting Salary : $14.00 per hour BRAZOS RIVER AUTHORITY, EOE : The BRA was created by the Texas Legislature in 1929 and exists to develop, manage and protect the water resources of the Brazos River Basin. Today, BRA's staff develops and distributes water supplies, provides water and wastewater treatment, monitors water quality, and pursues water conservation through public education programs.
