Floating Assistant Teacher in the Johnstown and Conemaugh areas: Pre-K Counts Assistant Teacher Childcare Assistant Teacher Before and After School Assistant Teacher General Description: The Assistant Teacher is responsible for participating in a cohesive teaching team, and helping to assist in management of the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. Assist with developmentally appropriate programming, developmentally appropriate transitional activities, and maintaining the appropriate child/staff ratio. Assistant Teachers must understand the children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged. The Assistant Teacher may have to work several different sites in the Johnstown/Conemaugh, PA area. Qualifications/Experience Required Requirements: Associate's Degree from an accredited College/University in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education or Elementary Education. Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children. Must be able to obtain Child Abuse, State Police, FBI Fingerprints, and NSOR verification.
