Position Summary: The Accountant will provide overall financial and accounting support to the Corporate Office. This includes reporting, planning, analysis of variances and operating results, and product costing. Supports general financial/accounting counsel to all team members and departments. Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Duties & Responsibilities: Completes month-end reporting package in an accurate and timely fashion. This requires an update of the financial statements budget, forecast, and prior year totals, maintenance of balance sheet accounts and related journal entries, depreciation entries, maintenance of Sales Price/Vol/Mix Analysis, Materials Analysis, Purchase Price Variance reporting, Trend Schedules and various other reports, completion of the monthly financial summary, and departmental expense reporting. Creation and input of routine and as needed JE's into the General ledger based on GAAP. Tracks P&L impact on a monthly-basis. Investigates inventory discrepancies as they occur. Reviews any necessary adjustments with Controller prior to processing. Reconciles Co-pack production shrink on a monthly-basis. Performs A/P processing for raw material related invoices. Prepares and files quarterly Commercial Activity Tax. Assists CFO with analysis of related financial variances. Provides analysis and support to operations team in efforts to control labor costs and material shrink. Provides support in the development of the annual budget and forecast by assisting in the development and analysis of various departmental budgets. Assists and supports in the development of PBC schedules for the annual audit. Supports the corporate financial staff with miscellaneous reporting. Provides support and backup for production entry/reporting and payroll. Completes corporate bank account reconciliation on a timely basis. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills & Abilities: Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulations. Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes. Understanding of data analysis and forecasting. Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel) and accounting software (e.g., SAP). Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and completes work in timely manner. Well-organized with ability to prioritize. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. Two to five years of related experience required. Outstanding knowledge and understanding of applicable laws and regulations. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of standing, talking, and or sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time. Job Posted by ApplicantPro
