*The Township is currently establishing an applicant pool for the position of General Intern* JOB SUMMARY: Chesterfield Township is recruiting for a pool of motivated interns who are willing to learn about local government in a fast-paced, real-world environment. The General Intern will assist in a variety of tasks, spanning across departments, and will be a valuable member of the Chesterfield Township team. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists where directed by Department Head or designee. Performs research at direct supervisor's request. Attends various meetings and take notes or minutes. Fulfills various projects or tasks as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS (Education and Experience): REQUIRED : High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Test. Possession of a valid Michigan driver's license and an operable insured automobile for authorized travel. PREFERRED : Ability to speak, read and understand a language other than English. SKILLS AND SPECIFICATIONS: Eagerness to learn and work with various departments across the Township. Excellent verbal and written skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment on a regular basis. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office with frequent contact with customers. May encounter frequent interruptions throughout the day.
