SOLID WASTE FOREMAN Public Works: Street and Solid Waste Division City of Watertown Solid Waste team has a leadership opportunity due to a retirement! This position is responsible for leading the collection team and direction of the pick up of residential refuse on established curbside routes. Applicants will work alongside the team performing the handling and packaging of recyclable items for shipping to outside vendors and contractors maintaining the yard and forecasting the needs and resources for the team. Applicants will be team foreman for the crew performing solid waste and recycle duties on city streets, cityproperties, or other properties. This position communicates with crew members daily on operations,schedules, truck maintenance, and routes in an effort to maintain efficient operations and assists in the daily operations of solid waste and recycling curbside pickup as needed. The Foreman willcommunicate with waste and recycle vendors to ensure competitive pricing/contracts are achieved. Applicants will also be responsible for the organization of recycle materials prepped for outside contractors to pickup while making sure the crew is trained on and follows safety policies and guidelines. Commercial Driver's License required within 60 days of hire. High school graduation (or HSED equivalent) and one-year experience in basic material handling/collection duties. Must possess and maintain a Commercial Driver's License with B and C endorsements and have an excellent driving record. Must be able to lift 60 pounds and work in various weather conditions. This is a full-time hourly position h ours from 6:00am to 2:00 pm Monday-Friday excluding holidays. Compensation range starting at $23.47-$25.48.
