The Compliance Officer is responsible for developing, implementing, and administering all aspects of the bank's compliance management. The position will plan, organize, and control the bank's day-to-day administrative, lending, retail, and operational compliance activities. The Compliance Officer will also administer the financial institution's security programs. We are seeking an individual with exceptional organizational skills. A high school diploma or equivalent GED is required. Bachelor's degree in accounting, financial management, or business administration is preferred. Three to five years of progressively more responsible work experience in an audit, compliance, and/or risk management role is required. WHAT WILL I DO? Develop, coordinate, and oversee an effective Anti-Money Laundering/OFAC Compliance Program appropriate for the size, complexity, and risk profile of the Bank. Establish and maintain appropriate SAR investigation, review, and reporting processes. Develops, administers, and monitors programs that ensure the Bank's compliance with laws, regulations, and rules governing operations and product offerings. Develop updates and revisions to AML/OFAC and compliance policies and procedures and preparation of reports for the Board of Directors. Conduct AML/OFAC and other risk assessments annually or as needed. Administer AML/OFAC and compliance-related training programs to directors, management, and employees. Responsible for oversight of the Bank's audit plan, programs, and reports. Initiates internal audits to augment outsourced audits in compliance with the Bank's internal control systems. Responsible for interacting with professionals with whom the bank's Board of Directors or President & CEO has outsourced routine compliance or internal audit functions, including maintaining the compliance and audit work papers, following up on violations or recommendations for improvement, and providing corrective action status reports to the Board of Directors. Research federal and state banking laws and regulations and assists in their interpretation and implementation and aligns risk management practices with strategic goals and objectives. Act as liaison/contact for regulatory examinations and internal and external independent reviews or audits of the AML/OFAC and compliance programs. Participate in response to exam and audit concerns and oversee corrective action of all related compliance deficiencies or violations. Recommends and assists in the development of improved bank procedures and controls which are indicated resulting from compliance reviews, internal audit procedures, or regulatory examinations and more!
