Under general supervision, provides leadership and professional management of the planning and general conduct of education, professional development and member engagement strategies and programs. Qualifications Superior communications skills, both written and oral and the ability to speak effectively to large groups of people. Self-motivated, highly dependable, cooperative, patient, flexible, and able to think on their feet. Must be able to handle diverse groups of people in a professional, courteous manner. Experience in developing and providing education courses. Two years of college or equivalent experience; four-year bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Experience with all types of office equipment including personal computers. Word processing experience-Microsoft Word; Spreadsheet software experience; Microsoft Excel; Presentation software experience-PowerPoint Education Program In coordination with the Education and Professional Development Committee, plans and executes GCSECA's education and training services for member system directors and employees. Specific responsibilities include budgeting, hiring instructors, disseminating promotional and marketing materials, arranging venues, making necessary food and beverage arrangements, setting up lodging arrangements, overseeing the evaluations process, establishing a recognition program for educational achievements and executing any other necessary functions to ensure successful outcomes. Leads the planning and execution of the Winter and Summer meetings. Responsibilities include identifying, soliciting financial support and working with meeting sponsors, collaborating with GCSECA staff on programming and speakers, overseeing meeting logistics, including lodging, food, and beverage needs, developing promotional and marketing materials, hiring entertainment, making A/V arrangements, ordering awards for various achievements, developing and maintaining budgets and executing any other necessary functions to ensure successful outcomes. Assists with the planning, organization, promotion and execution of the statewide Washington Youth Tour to Washington, D.C. program. Analyzes current fee structure and makes recommendations for potential improvements to how service costs are covered. Assists NRECA in the development of new education programs. Serves as the Arizona representative to the NRECA Statewide Training Coordinators Group. Maintains a comprehensive list of available training courses. Promotes a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality. Identifies, plans and executes in-house training for GCSECA personnel. Monitors and oversees the Loss Control/Safety Equipment check-out for items hosted at the Statewide office. Member Engagement Serves as lead staff liaison to the Education and Professional Development Committee, and the Group Purchasing Committee. Works with members in the establishment of other ad hoc committees that focus on specific professional areas, such as human resources, finance and IT. Organizes ongoing non-board engagement by developing and implementing customized engagement plans for each member. Creates and oversees new director and key staff orientation programs. Represents the Association at national, regional and state meetings. Attends co-op systems meetings, as necessary.
