Watercraft Maintenance Mechanic's Helper

Position Description: BlackFish Federal is seeking qualified individuals to perform Field Level Watercraft Maintenance and Repair services to ensure that the U.S. Army's 7th Transportation Brigade fleet is maintained within the Army's maintenance standard. Please note that this position is in support of a contract for which we are bidding. Any offers will be contingent on contract award. Required Qualifications: Possess skill level equivalent for Mechanical of 88L10 through 88L20: 23580 Maintenance Trades Helper. Must have minimum one (1) year of experience working on or around maritime machinery, vessels (U.S. Army vessel experience preferred) or equivalent, conducting maritime machinery maintenance and repairs. Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Complete all required Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) and work-order driven repair actions on a variety of U.S. Army vessels and systems to include Landing Craft Utility (LCU), Logistics Support Vessel (LSV), Large Tug (LT), Small Tug (ST), Landing Craft Mechanized (LCM), Module Warping Tug (MWT), Side Loading Warping Tug (SLWT), Causeway Ferry (CF), Floating Causeway (FC), and Roll on Roll of Discharge Facility (RRDF). Provide mechanical repairs to ensure proper and safe repairs. All repairs shall be conducted as prescribed in the applicable technical manuals while abiding by OSHA, post, Army watercraft safety and command safety requirements. Work Conditions: The working environment is in an industrial setting subject to varying outdoor weather conditions, industrial machinery spaces, and other environmental conditions that include (but are not limited to) work locations with loud noises, rotating machinery, heights, and narrow access spaces.
