A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN OUTSIDE CLINIC COORDINATOR As an Outside Clinic Coordinator, you are directly involved in ensuring that patients outside clinic services are scheduled timely and accurately. You ensure outside clinic services are case managed in a manner compliant with company guidelines and requirements. You are highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills and a strong aptitude for great customer service. Your attention to detail and efficiency keeps things running smoothly. Responsibilities Performs clinic activities including answering telephones, administrative office duties (like retrieval/distribution of incoming and outgoing emails, faxes, etc.), and Health Information Management responsibilities Accesses EMR system to retrieve referrals, orders and other documentation Assists patients with Release of Information requests Maintains and retrieves medical records Addresses patient calls efficiently and courteously Takes accurate, clear and concise messages that provide sufficient information for the clinical staff and/or receiving party to effectively handle the issue/request Schedules, cancels and/or reschedules patient appointments, as assigned Places reminder calls or sends information to patients in advance of their appointment per office policy Problem-solves issues by seeking out the appropriate resources Works collaboratively as part of the medical practice team Performs other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or GED Past experience in medical office setting is a plus Knowledge of medical terminology Excellent organizational and time-management skills Great communication and phone etiquette skills Proficient computer literacy Fluent in Spanish is a must, both verbal and written communication ABOUT ILLINOIS ORTHOPEDIC NETWORK Illinois Orthopedic Network (ION) is an orthopedic practice specializing in workers' compensation and personal injuries.
