Work-Life Services Such as Financial Planning, Time and Stress Management, and More! What do I need as a Housekeeper - Floor Care Assistant with Messiah Lifeways? High school diploma or GED equivalent. Prior floor care experience preferred, not required. What will I do as a Housekeeper - Floor Care Assistant with Messiah Lifeways? Follows cleaning schedules as outlined by the Environmental Services Manager. Operates the floor machines, buffers, and carpet extractor. Follows a preventive maintenance program to insure that the floors always attain a high level of cleanliness and beauty. Be prompt in attending to any accidents so that floors and carpets retain good appearance. Informs the Environmental Services Manager when supplies are low. Follows emergency procedures and responds rapidly and appropriately to emergencies ensuring the safety of the residents and staff. Follows proper procedures and promotes safe work practices in order to maintain a safe working environment. Works cooperatively and productively with others, including residents, families, and other employees. Willingness to work under direction and supervision. Confidentiality regarding resident information must be maintained in strict confidence, as well as other information pertaining to the business of Messiah Lifeways. It is the responsibility of all Messiah Lifeways employees to be mindful of safety when performing duties. This is to include performing tasks in a safe manner, as well as being mindful of potential safety issues when traveling throughout the campus. If any unsafe conditions are discovered, this shall be reported to the Office of Safety and Security immediately, and actions shall be taken to reduce the possibility of injury until a permanent solution can be applied. Additional duties and tasks as assigned. Performs preventative maintenance on floor machines, scrubbers, buffers and vacuums. Assumes accountability for compliance with federal, state and local regulations within the assigned duties and within his or her span of control. Collects trash from all Nursing and EL neighborhoods twice during 2nd shift and transports it to the outside compactor. Collects soiled laundry from Nursing and EL neighborhoods twice during 2nd shift and transports it down to the Laundry department.
