POSITION SUMMARY As a Surgery Scheduler, you will be part of a team that strives to uphold Unio Health Partners' mission to provide the highest level of care. In a non-exempt position, the Surgery Scheduler is responsible for scheduling patient surgery, tests, referrals, pre-op tests, and reviewing meds and health history as needed. This position is responsible for coordinating the scheduling and care of the patient by ensuring authorization is obtained for all procedures. They are responsible for obtaining patient records and compiling and keeping the medical records current. What you will be doing Schedules gastroenterology procedures, surgeries, and pre-op testing and coordinates scheduling with Hospital and Ambulatory Surgical Centers Scheduling may include Surgical procedures, consultations, treatment, procedures, follow-up visits, outside diagnostic studies such as bone scan, MRI, or CT, as well as referrals and other types of appointments. Maintain Referral Box, which includes reviewing referrals, checking insurance and demographics, call patients to schedule. Adheres to the company's insurance and authorization policy by verifying insurance eligibility and benefits and patient demographics, obtaining authorizations, and making detailed notes in the patient's account including documenting conversations and payment arrangements. Initiates requests for authorizations for all services ordered by the physician if authorization is required for other providers. STAT and retro requests may be necessary.
