YOUR DAY AS A NONPROFIT SOCIAL WORKER - WORKSHOP FACILITATOR As a Nonprofit Social Worker and Workshop Facilitator, you provide education to small groups in city jails. You're given an approved lesson plan to follow. You set clear objectives using the provided materials, including handouts, workbooks, textbooks, and videos. You cover a variety of topics, including substance use treatment, anger management, CBT, parenting, financial management, arts and crafts, PTSD services, and more. You present workshop activities and help learners to envision themselves where they want to be. With that vision, they're able to apply those lessons to their own lives. You plan lessons, hand out assignments, and track progress. With attention to detail, you complete session reports and write weekly case notes for each participant, highlighting reviewed topics, participation, and progress. REQUIREMENTS FOR A NONPROFIT SOCIAL WORKER - WORKSHOP FACILITATOR Bachelor's degree in adult education, human relations, psychology, social work, or another related field Knowledge/experience in job development, human resources, or employer relations Experience in workforce development Knowledge of the rehabilitation field Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Ability to work full-time in a jail setting among incarcerated individuals Excellent facilitating skills, strong command of information, and spatial awareness Ability to pass Department of Corrections clearance Bilingual abilities are preferred but not required.
