What's the job all about? This is a research and development project focusing on organizing both internal and public biological data for data mining and building machine learning models to predict outcomes. A successful candidate will work with their mentor(s) to develop modules to extract meaningful knowledge to build predictive models based on the collected data. The candidate will have the opportunity to learn from experienced computational biologists about novel technological advancements in biotechnology. Curate internal and external multiomics datasets Assess and benchmark data integration algorithms/methods in the field of epigenetics Implement computational/statistical methods to bring insight to biological problems Deliver and communicate analysis results to teams Works effectively as a team contributor on all assignments, as well as independently, while understanding the necessity for communicating and collaborating work efforts with other team members What you can offer? Education/Qualifications: Currently enrolled in Master/Ph.D. in bioinformatics, statistics, computer science, data science, life science, medical informatics, or a similar quantitative field Proficient in one or two programming skills for big data handling and modeling Expertise in programming languages such as R and Python for bioinformatics analysis is a required Competencies: Excellent communication and presentation skills High attention to detail and problem solving Success Factors: Excellent problem-solving skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Personable, efficient and a highly motivated professional with an internal drive to succeed Time management: prioritize tasks to ensure that projects are completed by deadlines What Active Motif can offer? The salary range represents Active Motif's good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of the posting. Certain positions may be eligible for additional compensation such as commission, bonus, and stock options. All benefits are subject to eligibility requirements.
