A Day In The Life of A Director of Financial Planning & Analysis The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis position is one that offers a fast-paced environment and a chance to work with market leaders, Executive Team and PE leadership to build and maintain a best-in- class FP&A function. This position will be responsible for managing the planning, budgeting, and forecasting (PBF) processes for the entire organization. The position will be the main point of contact for reporting on the financial performance of HRG, help explain the story behind the numbers to internal and external stakeholders and help shape decisions to grow the business. The position will work with corporate and market leaders to support our growth trajectory through cost optimization, operational reviews, as well as analysis of financial investments and long-range planning. The Director will oversee a team of three highly motivated professionals while also partnering closely with all areas of the organization to deliver more insightful and actionable analysis. The position reports to the Sr. Director Financial Planning & Analytics. This is a Fully Remote work from home position. Essential Functions: Lead in the development and preparation of key executive level materials including Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews, Board Presentations, Senior Leadership Team Presentations and communication of results to the CFO, Executive Team and PE partner Lead our consolidated P&L reporting and forecasting processes (monthly, quarterly, annual and long-range plan) with a high degree of accuracy and transparency Collaborate with business partners to foresee challenges and influence others to take action Build and enhance robust financial models through a strategic lens as well as collaborate cross-functionally with business partners to highlight trends and assess business risk and opportunities Enhance and own various key metrics reporting including headcount, to support business decisions and optimize resource allocation Proactivity in driving process and reporting improvements to ensure real-time visibility into financial performance throughout the company Monitor key trends and assumptions on capital expenditures and operating expenses to optimize free cash flow Prepare and present analyses, forecasts and recommendations to Executive team to support critical decisions for the company Leverage various financial systems to automate and scale current processes to support rapid growth Provide day-to-day leadership for the FP&A team (recruiting, development, managing performance, and career management) Work closely with accounting in monthly close process to ensure timeliness and accuracy of entries Education, Certifications, and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA preferred 7-10 years overall experience including experience with budgeting and forecasting processes and systems with applications development in financial planning and analysis. Self-starter attitude and ability to prioritize, handle multiple assignments, exercise judgment, and take ownership of projects Ability to work with large amounts of information, synthesize trends and insights, and communicate findings to an executive audience Advanced Microsoft Excel modeling skills, experience with Tableau or PowerBI required. Track record of thinking strategically about complex business problems and influencing leadership decisions through clear communication of data analysis. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience in preparing management reports Team player with strong work ethic, pro-active orientation, who can anticipate needs, is assertive, and highly accountable, with a mature and positive attitude Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, manipulate, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
