POSITION SUMMARY This full-time position is located in Fairview Heights, IL, and the Supervisor will work Monday - Friday, 9:00-5:30 pm. The schedule may vary throughout the year based on program events, some evening and weekend events throughout the year The Bilingual Community Programs Supervisor is responsible for the daily supervision of the Puentes de Esperanza program advocates. Interviews, selects, and supervises bilingual advocates providing program services. Monitors compliance with requirements of programmatic components. Provides advocacy and support services to Spanish-speaking individuals and families. Represents the agency at community events and meetings and provides direct client services as needed. Models CARE principles for staff and clients and supports staff as they provide services aligned with the CARE model. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provides day-to-day supervision of Puentes de Esperanza team members for ongoing support through daily communication and weekly meetings. Interviews, hires, and selects staff for employment in various programs. Trains and mentors newly hired Puentes team members upon completion of the new hire orientation. Monitors compliance with grant requirements and assists staff in resolving barriers to achieving the expectations of the grant. Provides direction to program services and assists staff in resolving service delivery obstacles. Assures that accurate and complete data is compiled in the reporting systems as required by the grant in order to document compliance with the goals, objectives, and quantity of services. Participates in the ongoing comprehensive quality improvement process. Prepares programmatic reports as required by the funder and agency. Works collaboratively with the Manager of Immigrant Services to ensure grant funds are spent in accordance with the contracts. Works with the Manager of Immigrant Services to identify resources that support Spanish-speaking families and the agency's mission. Conducts outreach to Spanish-speaking families for community resources and support. Participates and supports additional community events as an organization representative. Remains knowledgeable about services available to immigrant communities and community resources and their respective eligibility. Accepts calls from community resources and personnel from other agencies after regular business hours. Monitors all case assistance requests for Spanish-speaking families involved with the Department of Children & Family Services (DCFS) and responds to requests for services when needed. Manages on-call scheduling for interpretation and translation requests from DCFS. Must be certified in the CARE practice model and provides support to team members consistent with CARE principles. This includes shift planning, coaching, and decision-making support for staff on duty. Must be certified in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and capable of performing crisis prevention and de-escalation techniques with fidelity to the TCI model. Expected to conduct TCI methods as required. Will actively seek to prevent behavioral crises, de-escalate crises as they occur, and respond to crises in accordance with TCI guidelines. Adheres to agency personnel policies. Assures that staff comply with agency policies and procedures, including training requirements. Monitors and maintains training records of all program staff as identified by the agency and/or funder. Other duties as assigned SKILLS and ABILITIES Fluency in English and Spanish Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to recruit sites for program implementation and community leaders within the target area Ability to engage youth, parents, and community leaders around difficult issues and topics Ability to coach and train individuals using a strengths-based approach Understanding of community needs and Latino culture and the ability to analyze data about the service site Critical thinking within a fast-paced environment Project management with attention to detail Interpersonal and communication skills EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE A High School Diploma or equivalent is required; A Bachelor's Degree is preferred. Must be bilingual (Spanish & English) and have experience working with the Latino population for 6+ years. Exhibit the leadership qualities required for this position. Must possess and retain a valid driver's license and auto insurance. The personal characteristics and experiential background that enables the Bilingual Community Support Supervisor to provide appropriate care for children and adults, develop positive, therapeutic relationships with them, to guide them in their development, and to actively engage the Spanish-speaking community. Ability to receive a DCFS/CANTS Clearance. Must be at least 21 years of age Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license Must possess and maintain proof of auto insurance CARE & TCI One of the essential job functions of any position within the agency is to align their performance with our overarching philosophy of CARE. All decisions, actions, communication, and performance should align with the six CARE principles (Developmentally Focused, Family Involved, Relationship Based, Ecologically Oriented, Competence Centered, and Trauma Informed). Not only must a staff complete the CARE training with satisfactory participation, but they must then put that training into practice in their everyday work. Every employee must also pass TCI training with a satisfactory grade in written and/or physical testing. All employees must remain current on refresher training that is provided monthly at all locations. Staff will be tested every 6 months on the physical portion, if applicable to the position. Staff will be tested annually on the written portion regardless of the position. If a staff is not current on the TCI refresher training every six months, they will be required to retake the full course. If they do not pass either test, they may be required to retake the full course. Not only must a staff complete the TCI training with satisfactory participation, but they must then put that training into practice in their everyday work. Location: 62208 Job Posted by ApplicantPro
