Prime Machine, Inc. was created in 1979 to provide emergency Industrial Equipment Repair and New Component Fabrication Services to a wide range of Customers statewide and beyond. We currently provide Large and Small Machine Shop Services, Welding Fabrication, Millwright Field Services, Gearbox Repair, and State-of-the-Art Laser Inspection Services. Our major Customers are found in Mining, Power Generation, Aerospace & Defense, and other critical Industries. Our Machining Department consists of Large and Small CNC Mills and Lathes, including many 4 and 5-axis Machines, as well as Manual Mills and Lathes that allow us to provide quick turn-around to Customers in crisis. Due to our growth and outlook on our business, we need a qualified Estimator with experience in machining, CNC, welding and familiar with ERP/CRM systems for quoting. ABOUT THE ROLE: The Estimator will proficiently prepare estimates by completing the due diligence necessary to estimate each job. This requires acute attention to the details found in email communications with the customer, SOW's, drawing packages and other means of receiving information for the scope of work. This position is critical in the success of the outcome of each job as it starts with this role to ensure each estimate aligns with the goals of the company to achieve our targets. This position will work with other internal departments (Project Management, Machine Shop, Field Service Group etc.) as well as key personnel at the companies we do work for. As such, A high level of professionalism and attention to detail in communication is vital for this position. We are looking for a candidate that possesses the traits of our core values and can continue to maintain them as a key member of the sales team: TEAM PLAYER HIGH TECHNICAL IQ SAFETY GETS IT DONE REQUIREMENTS TO BE SUCCESFUL IN THIS ROLE: Analyzing blueprint specifications. Preparing proposals including but not limited to material cost, labor estimates, due dates etc. and calculation of gross margins to align with company goals. Careful review of SOW from customers that can be lengthy and many times dealing with different levels of security due to the nature of the customers we work with. High level of organization to ensure handoffs to other divisions is efficient once awarded the job. Be able to follow processes and procedures related to confidential documents. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Experience reading blueprints, drawings, GD&T, specifications, and doing take-offs for mechanical projects. Understanding mill and lathe machine run times. Understand tooling requirements. A strong background in change orders and the estimating required in successful change order completion. Proven record of working effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment with critical deliverables and deadlines while being accurate and thorough Great communication and interpersonal skills and effectively working in a team environment with top-notch co-workers. Strong computer and software knowledge Experience with hydro-technology, mining, food processing machinery and/or similar heavy industrial technology. KEY QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree (preferred) in business, manufacturing, project management or related discipline and two years' bidding/estimating experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience desired. 5+ years as an estimator, preferably in the machining industry. Bonus if you have CNC experience and or have been a machinist looking to further your contributions at a different level. Proficient in using a ERP/CRM system as well as MS Excel to calculate costs, gross margins, basic calculations and formula comprehension. Machine Shop experience as a CNC operator or Machinist is not required but preference would be given to candidates with this experience.
