Clarke of Roselle, IL is seeking to hire a Laboratory Intern who will be responsible for defining the distribution and density of target mosquito species in relation to human populations. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors and in a lab environment , is interested in public health, sustainability , and learning different aspects of mosquito operations. It is a great opportunity to improve/build resumes and communication skills. WORK SCHEDULE AND SALARY starting at $16/hr Monday - Friday; 7:00am - 3:30pm Full-time seasonal position (generally May - September) QUALIFICATIONS FOR A LABORATORY INTERN Currently enrolled or recent graduate from an accredited University or College Major area of study must be Biology, Entomology, Environmental Science or related field In many cases this position may be used for internship credit Be 18 years of age or older Have a valid Driver's License with an excellent driving record Self-motivated and able to work independently and in a team environment Required to pass the Illinois Department of Agriculture General Standards Exam (training provided) Communicate effectively in English in both written and verbal forms RESPONSIBILITIES OF A LABORATORY INTERN Monitor/collect surveillance traps in an assigned region Identify adult and larval genus/species of mosquitoes Data entry and analysis Surveillance equipment inventory and organization Prepare mosquitoes for virus testing BENEFITS Employee assistance programs Employee appreciation programs PAID day of volunteer and picnic ABOUT CLARKE Clarke lives up to the Company's mission to make communities around the world more livable, safe and comfortable.
