If so, then this full-time position provides a unique and rewarding opportunity for you to make a difference in the lives of many. WHAT YOU'LL DO In the Housing Coordinator role, you'll report directly to our Director of Community Services and work closely with our volunteer team and case managers. You will take the lead role in securing housing for our newest clients. You will lead housing searches and inspections for arriving refugees. You will manage placement in our partner housing facilities. You'll support the case management team by coordinating the logistics of housing setups including ordering furniture and supplies and arranging delivery. This also includes moving furniture into homes and ensuring all required items are provided for setup. Additionally, you'll: Assist with housing inspections, housing setups, utility setups, housing search and other daily tasks. Communicate with landlords regarding scheduling, repairs, and housing services. Participate in weekly housing and resettlement team meetings and trainings as needed. Pick up donated furniture and other household items. Drive agency van and rented box truck. Initiate utility services for new residents. WHAT YOU'LL BRING Knowledge of Microsoft Teams accounts and strong computer skills The ability to lift 35 - 50 lbs. to move furniture and housing materials for set-up Ability to drive vehicles such as box truck, moving van or personal vehicle for transporting housing materials A valid driver's license, liability insurance in the amount of 100/300K Understanding of and adherence to, proper uniform for assigned daily tasks Knowledge of language supports a plus WHY JOIN JFS? We also have a reduced 35 hour work week with an early close on Fridays! Since this position requires work in the community, you must have a reliable vehicle, clean NYS driver's license and required liability insurance levels of $100/$300k.
